Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Day 292

. One of the best parts about being an adult is getting to choose to take “mental health” days.

. My favorite breakfast right now, when I actually eat breakfast, is a cup of tea with a teaspoon of raw sugar, and a large slice of sourdough bread. I don’t own a toaster, so I put the bread in the oven at 350 degrees. After 10 minutes I take it out, slather on an obscene amount of cold butter, and put it back in the oven till the butter has melted and soaked into the bread. Past experience has taught me to put a piece of parchment paper underneath to catch the excess butter.

. I venture out for some retail therapy, which ends up looking like one used book from Half Price Books, a jar of walnut Dijon mustard, and a pump for the bike’s tires.

. Lunch is a VERY crude kind of charcuterie plate of fried lamb loaf, Reypenaer VSOP gouda, charred pane di casa, mustard, and sliced tomato drenched in olive oil and pink salt. Ani sits next to me and puts her paw in the mustard when I’m not looking which means I am now wiping away mustard paw prints from the floor.

. Rain.

. A school shooter is stopped in Anderson County, blocks from my old house.

. Windows open.

. Mole and charro beans and Corona.
